Nusha (Anna Shurochkina) is a
Russian pop singer. She was born on 15 August 1990 in Moscow. Her father, Vladimir
Shurochkin, at the time, was the participant of group «Tender May» (Laskoviy
May). Mother, Irina Shurochkina, was also a musical person in youth, she
performed in a rock band. Parents divorced when Anna was two years old. Later,
the new wife of Vladimir Shurochkin became a sportswoman Oksana, by name. Relationships
with her stepmother were good, the family travelled together a lot. At the age
of five Anna recorded the track «Song of the great bear» and she
loved it very much. As she recalls these feelings were one of the brightest in
her life. At the age of 8, Anna began to take lessons in solfeggio, she studied
with her teacher for six years. Now she plays the piano, but thinks not well
enough. In addition to music, in the childhood, the future singer was
interested in sports, studied Thai Boxing, gymnastics. At the age of 11 Anna,
along with the band «Grizzly Bear» toured throughout Germany and
Russia. During these tours Anya studied English, trying to improve it when
dealing with foreigners.

Nyusha Vladimirovna Shurochkina (Russian: Ню́ша Влади́мировна Шу́рочкина; 15 August 1990), better known simply as Nyusha, is a Russian singer and songwriter. One of the most popular musicians in contemporary Russia, Nyusha has released eight number-one singles in Russia, holding the record for the greatest amount.

The daughter of former Laskovyi Mai member Vladimir Shurochkin, Nyusha began her career as a teenager, competing in New Wave 2008, where she placed seventh. Afterwards, she was signed to Warner Music Russia and released her debut studio album Vybirat chudo in 2010; the album went on to produce four number-one singles in Russia and Nyusha won Best Russian Act at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Her second studio album Obedineniye was later released in 2014, producing four more number-one singles and winning Nyusha the award for Best Russian Act again at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Nyusha was born on 15 August 1990 into a family of musicians,^[1][2] her family is Georgian, also her father, Vladimir Shurochkin was a former member of the musical group Laskovyi Mai (Ласковый май). Her mother, Irina Shurochkina sang in a rock band in her youth.

At age 11 she began performing on stage in the group Grizli. The group toured in Russia and Germany. At age 17 she changed her name from Anna to Nyusha.^[3]

In 2008 Nyusha took seventh place in the international contest New Wave 2008 and also wrote the final song of the heroine in the dubbed version of the film Enchanted. In 2009, she released her first single Вою на луну (Voyu na lunu) or in English Howl at the moon. Her composition won Song of the Year — 2009. At the concert Europa Plus Live 2009 she introduced the new songs Angel in Russian and the English Why? ^[4]

On April 28 she gave a concert in the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, because of her first tour promoting her debut album Выбирать чудо. In March 2013 she released the song Наедине (Alone) as the second single of her second studio album, expected to be released by the end of the year.

Personal life[edit]

In 2017, she married Igor Sivov in the Maldives and became stepmother to his two children from a previous marriage.^[5][6] The couple have a daughter born in 2018.^[7] Her name is Simba (Seraphima). In July 2021 Nyusha announced a second pregnancy.^[8]
Their son Saffron was born December 14, 2021.

The third single is the album title, and peaked at number 1 in Russia by the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011, and is one of her most successful songs to date. It’s also one of her most viewed videos on YouTube.

In 2011, she released three new singles: Больно (It Hurts) and Выше (Higher). These are the fourth and fifth singles from her debut album, Выбирать чудо. On April 28 she gave a concert in the famous Crocus City Hall in Moscow, because of her first tour promoting her debut album Выбирать чудо During the concert, the singer released three new songs: two singles (Воспоминание and Объединение) and a duet with her father (You are my life). A month before the show, March 28 Nyusha was nominated again for the MUZ-TV Awards 2012 in two categories (Best Song (for Выше) and Best Female Artist). The award ceremony was held on 1 June in SC Olympic. The singer won «Best Song». The same month she released officially the song Воспоминание (Memories), topping the charts in Russia and Ukraine, becoming her fifth and first number one in those countries respectively. It is considered her most successful song to date and her most popular one. Also, this song was on top of the TopHit Weekly Audience Choice for 19 consecutive weeks, more than any other in the history of the site.
